MATAWAN, New Jersey — Therafit Rehab, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier providers of physical, occupational, and speech therapy for people with neurological conditions or traumatic injuries, has opened its newest clinic in Matawan, New Jersey.

The location represents the company’s second in New Jersey and sixth overall, joining four in Maryland. Together with its existing clinic in Middletown, Therafit Rehab offers specialized treatment for people of all ages that suffer from multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, cerebral palsy, and other neurological conditions. Therafit Rehab also treats people who have sustained injuries to the brain or spinal cord, and its new Matawan clinic offers a dedicated Therafit Kids space to treat pediatric patients.

“We are all thrilled and honored to be able to expand our unique, one-on-one therapy services for the neurological community in this area,” Sarah Miltner, president and co-owner of Therafit Enterprises of New Jersey, said. “Traditional medicine sometimes overlooks or gives up on people with neurological disorders — we never will. Therapy, whether it’s physical, occupational, or speech, goes a long way toward helping that population reclaim a degree of independence.”

The new Matawan clinic is located at 443 Highway 34, Unit J, Matawan, New Jersey 07747. It features state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment, such as the Quadriciser, for neurological impairments and traumatic injury recovery, a dedicated space for patients to work on activities of daily living as part of occupational therapy, speech therapy workrooms, and a new Therafit Kids room to treat children with autism, problems with speech, or other developmental delays.

Miltner, an occupational therapist who previously spent eight years at the JFK JRI Center for Head Injuries, and co-owner and physical therapist assistant Justin Gilligan designed the clinic. They selected a location with easy access to both the Garden State Parkway and U.S. Route 9. Buildout of the 2,100-square-foot space was completed by Char-Ron Contracting, Inc.

Therafit Rehab Matawan is open Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Most major insurance carriers are accepted. Same- or next-day appointments typically are available. The clinic phone number is 732-955-9505.

As a healthcare provider (and not a gym), Therafit Rehab always will remain open to treat patients in-clinic, in-home, or via telehealth. Therapy and movement remain essential to boost immune systems and wellness in people with neurological conditions or traumatic injuries.
