WESTMINSTER, Maryland — Therafit Rehab, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier providers of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy for people with neurological conditions or traumatic injuries, will mark its 15th anniversary with a community celebration from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at all of its locations. There is no charge to attend, though due to capacity limitations, advance registration is required.
The celebration will feature one-on-one exams with a physical, occupational, or speech therapist, raffles of $500 in gift cards, door prizes for all attendees, free food and drinks, and games. All exams can be conducted on adults or children.
“It’s been an unbelievable run, and I am humbled and excited to be celebrating our 15th anniversary on October 19th,” Gina Della, president of Therafit Rehab, said. “Treating neurological patients, many of whom had no other place to turn, has been inspiring and rewarding. I am still moved by their dedication to and hard work at their therapy sessions, and by the tireless support of their loved ones and caregivers. I am grateful to all of our patients for making Therafit Rehab what it is today.”
Della founded Therafit Rehab (then Therafit Gym) in 2006, four years after her brother, Richard Ayres, suffered a traumatic brain injury and paralysis in an automobile accident. Along with her son, Therafit Rehab vice president Justin Gilligan, she assumed his care, ultimately researching and securing a device called the Quadriciser. That piece of equipment moves all four limbs simultaneously, stimulating the brain and improving muscle function.
Ayres, once in a coma and nearly abandoned by traditional medicine, began an inspiring recovery thanks in large part to the Quadriciser. His progress moved Della to offer the Quadriciser and one-on-one physical therapy to others that had suffered traumatic injuries or were battling neurological conditions. Therafit Rehab opened with one location in Westminster, Maryland, and is preparing to open its sixth in Matawan, New Jersey.

As a healthcare provider (and not a gym), Therafit Rehab always will remain open to treat patients in-clinic or via telehealth. Therapy and movement remain essential to boost immune systems and wellness in people with neurological conditions or traumatic injuries.
