WESTMINSTER, Maryland — Therafit Rehab, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier providers of physical, occupational and speech therapy for people with neurological conditions or traumatic injuries, announced it will host free stroke recovery consultations May 27-June 5, 2020, at its locations in Maryland and New Jersey. Individuals that have had a stroke and their caregivers are welcome to register for a consult.

The free screen, conducted by one of Therafit Rehab’s certified physical, occupational, or speech therapists, will last about 15 minutes and will include an interview and one or more assessment exercises for balance, muscle spasticity, dexterity, and the like.

“Many stroke survivors spend significant time at home, and that has likely increased due to recent government decrees,” Gilligan said. “Prolonged inactivity and time inside can weaken muscles and increase fall risk, so we welcome stroke patients to come in for a free assessment of where they are in their recovery. We can help stroke victims regain strength and balance in their movement, dexterity in performing activities of daily living, and confidence in speech.”

The free consults will take place at Therafit Rehab’s locations below. Spouses and loved ones are welcome.

Advance registration is required as space is limited. Register online at therafitrehab.com/free-consult-stroke or by calling your local Therafit Rehab.
