WESTMINSTER, Maryland — Therafit Rehab, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier providers of physical, occupational and speech therapy for people with neurological conditions or traumatic injuries, announced it will host a free consult week for balance problems May 11-15, 2020, at its locations in Maryland and New Jersey. Members of the community that are unsteady on their feet or have a fear of falling (and its subsequent ramifications) are welcome to attend and benefit from this potentially life-changing consultation.

The free screen, conducted by one of Therafit Rehab’s certified physical therapists, will last approximately 15 minutes and will include an interview and one or more balance assessment exercises.

“Studies show one in three people older than 65 fall each year, and one in five falls results in a hospitalization or admission into an extended-care facility,” Justin Gilligan, vice president of Therafit Rehab, said. “With COVID-19 prevalent in those types of facilities, now is not the time to suffer a fall that results in a hospitalization.”

The free consults will be conducted at Therafit Rehab’s locations below. Spouses and loved ones are welcome to attend.

Advance registration is required as space is limited. Register online at therafitrehab.com/free-consult-balance or by calling your local Therafit Rehab. A member of the staff will work with the attendee to schedule the free consult.
