WESTMINSTER, Maryland — Therafit Rehab, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier providers of physical, occupational and speech therapy for people with neurological conditions or traumatic injuries, announced it will host a free balance webinar online at 10 a.m. ET Friday, May 8. Registration for the webinar is open, and space is limited to 100 attendees.

Justin Gilligan, vice president of Therafit Rehab and a licensed physical therapist assistant, will host the webinar via a Google hangout. He will provide education on fall risks, tips to maximizing safety in the home, exercises to improve balance, and more. The webinar will last approximately one hour.

“We remain open and committed to serving our patients and our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that includes activities like telehealth and webinars to help those in need become more active, mobile, and independent,” Gilligan said. “Injuries sustained during a fall frequently lead to hospitalizations or extended stays in long-term care facilities, and it’s very important at this time that we do everything we can to reduce new admissions to those centers.”

The webinar is open to the public and intended for people of all ages who have experienced a fall or are worried about a fall. Spouses and loved ones are welcome.

Advance registration is required as space is limited. Register online at therafitrehab.com/balance-webinar or by calling your local Therafit Rehab.
