Therafit Rehab, one of the Baltimore area’s premier providers of therapeutic exercise, health and wellness programming for the disabled community, today announced the addition of speech therapy services and certified speech therapists at its four Maryland locations.
Therafit Rehab will offer speech therapy focused on the assessment and treatment of communication problems resulting from neurological disorders and traumatic brain injuries. Speech language pathologists (SLPs) will staff Therafit Rehab centers in Baltimore, Towson, Westminster and Woodlawn beginning Feb. 1.
“We are thrilled to expand the therapeutic services to meet the needs of our patients’ that face challenges speaking and swallowing,” Justin Gilligan, vice president at Therafit Rehab, said. “We will provide our patients with one-on-one speech therapy by certified SLPs that use proven techniques, all with the goal of helping our patients improve their quality of life.”
Joining Therafit Rehab to direct speech therapy services are SLPs Emily Hoskins and Rebecca Randall.
Hoskins remains certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) LOUD method for treating patients that battle Parkinson’s disease. She earned her master’s degree in speech language pathology from Marywood University in Pennsylvania. She has worked for numerous major health systems before serving children in Howard County Public Schools. Hoskins will staff Therafit Rehab’s Baltimore and Towson locations.
Randall has more than 25 years of experience as a speech therapist, including the last five at Manor Care Health Services/Reliant Rehabilitation. She has worked in adult rehabilitation and adolescent special education settings after earning her master’s degree in speech language pathology from Loyola University in Maryland. Randall will staff Therafit Rehab’s Westminster and Woodlawn locations.
